Mac OS 9.2

Posted 23 August 2008 - 04:36 PM

My dad got a iMac with Mac OS 9.2 from my sister's work
and it's a piece of crap...
I wanted to test it, and saw
that it had 30gb space and 256mb RAM.
30GB USELESS!!!

I found out I have to use Crappy IE5,
as Opera and Firefox are not compatible with
Mac OS 9.2
Also, all the layouts on websites SUCK

Piece of Junk, eh? :P

P.S. I'll post a picture of it whenever.

Wow... 30gb is useless now? News to me.

I remember when 870mb was a big deal. I paid $300 for a 6gb drive when I built my 1st PC.

30gb is useless with only 256mb RAM, right?

I'm not even gonna use this computer much, just using it for the pre-installed Civilization II and Internet. :P

My dad's gonna fix some laptop for me to use,
and I'm hoping I can get a dual-boot of
Ubuntu and Windows XP... :)

Data Storage & volatile ram are 2 totally different items. One will not cause the other to be useless.

All programs must execute in ram. Therefore, the more ram that you have, the more running processes you can have. This has nothing to do with your overall storage on the system.

I have 2 gigs of ram, and my little monitor says it's always about 50% used up, so i couldn't even run with 512 megs. Anyway, I've used mac OS X, and i believe i've used the version of mac you have, but it was so long ago i don't remember. Anyway, mac blows. I hate it so much i'm not even going to capitalize its name. Windows is good, and i don't use Linux much, but i capitalized it, so it has earned my respect. mac is for babies, Windows is for normal people, and Linux is for hard core geeks and nerds.

Oh, and i do agree with you on the 30 gig thing. I have 2 hd's, a 160 gig, and an 80 gig. However, half of the 160 gig is Linux (ext3), so on Windows i have a total of 160 gigs of hd space (80 + 80). I could live with 30 gigs, but it would be like moving out of a mansion into a motel room.

I'm anxious to see that pic. Make sure you have all the sucky software running. :D Oh, and what processor you got? (just curious to see how much that sucks)

Why would you want Ubuntu if you have Windows?

For all of the same reasons you would rather use Windows than Mac.

Since you guys really want to see that picture, I'll show you.
It about maybe 15-20 lbs, and maybe 1 foot long.
[Maybe 1 and 1/2]
I connected a modern wireless keyboard and mouse that uses USB.
It uses the PowerPC G3 processor

I.. um, have a friend, and he said that 30GB is not nearly enough space to store all the t0p-s3kr3t juarez he has. It's also not good if you have a lot of multimedia stuff.
