online word processor

hey guys whats up, i have been checking out buzzword, the online word processor from adobe. i was wondering if you were to make one, what code would you use, i was thinking Javascript??? I was thinking about trying to make one, whats Javascript like??? Is it powerful but i take it isnt like Java???

Javascript and Java may sound similar, but are largly different. I think Java would be a good option if you were going to make it. Though you would need to get a Sun approved cert because you need it to access files from the users computer (e.g the files made by the word prossesor).

make it in java??? how would you set up java to work on a web page??? and how would you get this certificate???

EDIT: you know of any tutorials relative to this???

right so i did not know what jsp was so i thought i would find out, and from my understanding, it is just a way to put a java program into a html page??? is this right??? so if i made a word processor (i will actually probably just start with a simple text editor, one step at a time) then i could use jsp and i would have an online word processor???

JSP is used to make Java Web Pages (so you don't need it to make the word prossesor), but you can make a Java program, archive it in a JAR and put it in a HTML code as an applet. But to do this, the user must have the Java Runtime Envirment.
The best thing to do is to get a book that covers Java programming and Java web development.
