Longest Time Ever?

Well I found myself last night reading countless tutorials on programming of all sorts, only to find myself not taking it all in as I had been reading them probably all day.

So I was just wondering...

What's the longest time you've ever spent coding without taking a break?

Interesting question.

Days on end, including sleeping time: 11
Hours on end without sleeping: 39 (it was one hell of a day and a half, but I aced the project)

I am way too ADD to code that long. I usually take short breaks whenever I need to contemplate a problem.

I've never had anything big to do, so I go about 6 hours before taking a break.

5.30AM - 2AM

Some prick developer that was working for me went AWOL with his laptop 1 day before the go-live date for a game project. He didn't backup his work on a daily basis so I had to start from fresh (got the game finished and got his ass fired)

Must of had about 13 smoke breaks though.

ouch! I know how hard it is to code when all you can think about is how to get even with someone for screwing you with the work. It was for school and not work, but that was the cause of my 11 hour run. 3 weeks, 4 people, the day before the due date, I find out that 2 of them dropped the course and didn't say anything and the 4th doesn't know a lick of the language we were using. So my 1/4 of the work was the only thing finished. 11 hours later and several cups of coffee I finished it. Needless to say I passed, he did not.

Just starting out, but so far the longest is about 5 hours without stopping

About 6~7 hours. Though with short breaks to eat. lol.

I find that I'm more productive if I actually have a break - then a 2hr job might become a 2min job.
