You know, after Obama pretty much outdoing McCain in both debates, and after McCains lame as hell 2nd debate full of just attack comments, I think the American people pretty much know where each one stands.

You know, at the beginning of all this I had respected John McCain a bit and what he had gone through. I thought he was a man that could stand up and do the right thing. But after these debates I have seen him and Palin just get really really nasty. Dirty politics all over the place and I have really lost that respect.

It is one thing to attack your opponents ideas, but each time McCain pretty much attacks Obama's character with just completely outrageous lies and super obscure references (like his association with a radical by the last name Ayers when Obama was 8... friggin 8 years old! and then when he met him again on a fund raising project FOR CHARITY!)

He really is grasping for straws here and it is pretty sad. It is sad that these debates have to be about McCain making some horrific accusation on his turn and Obama having to slap it down in 2 seconds on his turn.

not if they keep asking the same questions. but you schedule 3 in advance in case any bombs drop. sometimes they do sometimes they don't. i'd rather have the opportunity for something to happen then to not have it.

Martyr you seem like an intelligent guy. One that wouldn't fall for the media hype. Who declared who a winner? Did you personally watch both debates? Did you form your own opinion based on first hand information? Who is this majority you speak of?

You often reference the idea that people who side with Obama are victims of media hype. You've also claimed on numerous occasions that you do not get your news/information from traditional sources. Mind if I ask what they are? I know you're a military brat (colloquialism, not a jab)...is that your source?

And unless I'm mistaken (known to happen, albeit rarely), Martyr is a US citizen.

You may want to review what socialism really is. As for me, I would not enjoy socialism much at all...as noted before, i lean to the right politically - especially in the financial arena.

The point that really hits it home for me is the left's idea of universal/governmental based health care. I've seen first hand what socialized medicine does and it is horrible. Anyone that thinks this is a good idea needs to go to a hospital in Germany or South Korea.

I think it depends on the implementation. We have universal health care in Canada, and for the most part, it works extremely well, with a great level of care. there are of course downsides, most notably:

1. The tax burden in Canada is massive in order to pay for that system. And Canada does not have flat rate taxation...more you make, more you pay.
2. Due to the universal availability of health care, wait times for some items can be outrageous. I myself was asked to wait 6 months for an MRI...and it would be paid for. I was in pain, so nuts to that...I went to upstate New York, paid $700 cheerfully for the MRI two days later. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I would actually be in favour of a two tiered system, where those who could afford to pay for enhanced services would do so. But many in this country would not support that at all.

If you fully reviewed Obama's health care plan you would see that it is a private insurance based coverage with government intervention when needed. It's not the over hyped socialized health care system that the right is so fond of using as a scare tactic. Besides something like that would have to make it through congress which would not happen.

What this really comes down to is that if you liked the last administration you'll like McCain. So If you are big on abuse of power, Sarah Palin is your Dick Cheney and if you like ignorance McCain is your better spoken Bush. Palin has the abuse angle in spades and McCain doesn't have all of the linguistic blunders that his predecessor was so good at, but he's really good at lying like Bush.

The heart of this election really is who is most likely to take us in a different direction that the previous group of crooks, and i think we all know the answer to that.

You all don't like me telling you that you have bought into the media hype if you support Obama and I don't like being told I'm ignorant because I disagree with what Obama says. If I disagree or don't like one of his views, I'm "fear mongering". What do you think the Democrats are doing with global warming? --Fear mongering--

I specifically look for articles and news feeds that are not affiliated with CNN, Fox News, etc... Often, military newspapers and news sources provide actual information with very little, if any spin. The armed forces deals with a ridiculous amount of information a day. The ability to get it correct and accurate on the first try is a valuable asset.

It's also called: personal filter. I may watch a news piece off of some major network and get a different impression then someone else. The ability to decipher what exactly is being said is a skill many of my countrymen need to learn.
