Is there any specific reason you want to use JCreator? You could also use Netbeans or Eclipse, which seem to be quite a bit more popular on this forum and would give you a better chance of getting support.
Did I mention they're both open source and free of charge?
I'm with Nick on this one though - to program Java you need at least a JDK, which you can get for free at http://java.sun.com/...ds/?intcmp=1281. I'm not sure if this could cause your error, but it's worth a try since you need a JDK anyway.

In Universities, especially in Britain, JCreator is the IDE of choice as tutors feel it the easiest for students to get used to java with as you are only working with java files and not projects. I have had to personally tell my tutor that i would rather work with notepad than JCreator, but atleast i now get to choose my IDE.
