time to take it down a notch. listen up, i know i act like an idiot on the internet. so what? this is the only time that i get to. my life is full of seriousness, and i sometimes need a break. to honestly scrutinize everything i say is very insulting, and is really making me not want to post here anymore. i mean, really, this is the caffine lounge, not the serious discussion forum. of course im going to be acting like a weiner head on here. its not the i dont respect the profession, which i do greatly, its just that it doesnt have to be so gung-ho and serious all the time. i program, i do serious stuff. just because i type like an idiot doesnt mean that i am one. this is for future refference. but seriously, im sick of being the butt end of all the jokes. just because my posts have character and a few mispelled words doesnt mean im like that irl, im just tryna have fun and show a few character flaws. no one is perfect, and even the most literate people make spelling mistakes. that does not mean they are any less smart. c'mon. lighten up.

In any community, there will those who will let things slide (majority), those who appreciate your style (your being used in the general sense, speaking of any individual), and those who do not appreciate it. The first group is the large majority, the latter two minorities. the final group is, however, the most vocal in any community.

Much of the problem stems from the fact that forums, while trying to take some apsects of community gathering, do not take others. If this is true gathering, it's much like a social gathering. To use a specific example, would you walk into a house party where you knew nobody and start spouting nonsense at the top of your lungs? If you did, many people would ignore you, but a small minority would confront you and ask you to leave.

Of course, the internet affords us some filtering ability as well. While I would not be able to ignore you if you were in my face at a party, I can certainly ignore you here. I would normally not comment in a thread such as this (which, by the way, seems to meet any current definition of an emo cry for attention), but wanted to give you a little perspective.

A person's behaviour or style or approach is their own choice - no one can tell you how to live. that being said, as an adult, you must accept that there are consequences for the choices you make. It is not reasonable to expect a community to conform to you.

People make choices. People live with the outcome of those choices. that is not unfair, that is life.
