G-Day as it has been dubbed is approaching quickly, the day US Ground Forces begin their attack on Iraq. President Bush is supposed to speak tonight around 7:00PM, rumor has it he will be declaring war on Iraq.

Let's get some civil discussion going on how you think the first day or 2 will go.

I think we'll bomb the shit out of iraq and go in to Bagdad and get our asses kicked for a month and Sadam will kill himself in a bunker after unleashing a nice Anthrax attack on Isreal.

our PM announced today that Canada will not be joining the war.

That's a relief for most Canadians.

what do I think will happen...

I *hope* that they will be able to achieve their objectives (whatever those are) quickly and with minimal damage to the civilians and the society.

And without major retaliation from the terrorists, et al.

Excuse me? When I grow up? How is that unrealistic?

I was watching CNN today and there was a story about the marines doing urban combat training and they had to go in to a house and get everyone and there were 32 guys attacking the 10 guys in the house and it took 20 minutes for the 10 guys to shoot the 32 guys with paint balls.


I'll listen to you when you learn some history about how we get our ass kicked in urban combat.

i support the war... but hate the idea of going to war and thinking of the innocents... even though when Sadam hides weapons w/in the citizens, there are no innocents there. i'd rather his army kill me than hide weapons with me.

i support bush, i hate the reasons though he's having to make these decisions. i'm fully prepared to accept what comes of the upcoming war. my prayers are going to the soldiers who are serving their duty to this great nation

of course you're happy canada's not going to war... they don't go to war very often... that's why the canadian population jumped when word got out in america that there might be a war... people fled to canada knowing they wouldn't be drafted if they're in canada... they wouldn't have to fight either. nobody really expected canada to get involved in this "war"

You're right, this isn't exciting. But Jbssfelix has a point (even if no one else wants to admit it!)
