Flash Cell Background

Is there a way i can use a .swf as a cell background?

i don't think it works. you generally can't put things over top of swf's. but then... i've never tried it....

Why not turn the z-index to -1 and use position-absolute(css) to put a span or div or paragraph or whatever ontop of it??

z-index is the order of which things appear on a page. If you have three DIVs or tables or whatever that overlap using absolute positioning (or relative for that matter) then you can decide which one appears on the top using the z-index property. link <<

is it appropriate of me to ask why you need a .swf for a cell background, is it possible that you can turn that .swf into a gif?

yes they are, but, since he's using flash i'm assuming he wants an animated bg, and if that's the case, i want to know if he can turn it into a gif...

Did you get it to work?? Maybe if you could make an example page or something....cuz if its a tiny .swf, itd be a lot easier to work with and all that fine jazz...also, would it be possible for you to just put all the content into the flash?? Or if you all ready got if figured out I'm just wasting my time
