Coffie

Posted 29 October 2008 - 08:40 PM

Since this is supposed to be the Professional section of DIC, lets have a real professional topic here.

When I worked at Enterprise they provided coffie service free of charge and it was even Ronnoco coffee. A nice full bodied STL locally roasted coffee, that does not have the acidity of starfucks. They also provided a selection of syrups and in the cafeteria an espresso machine.

Now I get Folders... for $3.50 a paycheck with sugar and non dairy creamer.

Ill just take it black

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

We get free coffee here. I'm on my 3rd cup. It's going to be a long night.

I also just take mine black. At restaurants when you arn't looking the waitress will fill your cup & throws off your mixture. Plus it gets me out of the house faster in the morning. So I just slowly learned to like it.

I've found that using filtered water allows the coffee to taste better.

We get free coffee everywhere I worked except for my last year at the Bank - they actually wouldn't provide it. Now I just make a Latte in the morning and take it to work with me and it is usually gone before I get there.

3.00 for a 12 pack of disposable cups & lids at the store and Milk, White Chocolate Powder with some Chock Full o'Nuts - I am also able to save over $100 a month on expenses and it tastes better than Starbucks.

I'll be the first one to say that I hate coffee. I hate the taste.

If I need caffeine, I'll drink a Mountain Dew or Dr. Pepper

I actually developed my love of coffie back in HS way back in 1994 the internets was just starting to get big back when IRC was chatting and Angelfire and Geocities were respectable web hosts. I volunteered my services at an upstart internet cafe' and learned how to program along with connecting to the internet via their smoking fast 128kbps ISDN connection.

So in other words I hung out there made coffee drinks and screwed around on the internet back before I even owned a net capable computer. I got free internet and free coffee drinks and some nice techno on Saturday nights. That and I had that all important piece of experience as a tech job for when I went applying for the generic internet help desk job that everyone in networking has done.

I have really just noticed that I havent really completed any major projects here lately, I suppose it is because I have been catching waves as much as I possibly could during the last of summer here. Ocasionally it has been getting cooler here of the nights in Southern Cali. I have even been wearing the Wet suit more frequently in the water due to lowering water temperatures. Oh well,, I guess I will find some programming project to work on before long. :P
