Need algorithm for TimeTable

hi
i want to generate a time table for my school project so kindly help me

the time table consists the following

1) hours (Number of periods)(maximum 6 periods per day)
2) which class and which teacher (for a single period according to the class the teachers may be change)
3) days (maximum six days per week)


i just need an algorithm only i can set that for manual in a database
but i want to generate it automatically

any valuable link also need to do
(Not the Code only the algorithm)

ehhm.please if u could make a good faith effort it would be much appreciated b4 anyone can hep u out.
and what is the essence of getting free help if its u school project. projects are meant to help u to learn and get knowledge about ur subject area.
try something .anything!!!!! then come back. there is no spoonfeeding done here

my Assumption is right it's a big thing,
ok i should prepare my self to Work it out to find a solution

I'll give you an hint, don't think in terms hours & minutes but in fractions of a day.e.g.
24Hrs, 0 Minutes => 1.0
0 Hrs, 0 Minutes => 0
12 Hrs 0 Minutes => 0.5
