And yes, 54Mb/s is my broadband speed! (Shh! Don't let the I.S.P. know. :pirate:  )

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

How the fuck are you getting 54mb/s?

I'm lucky to get 400kb/s where I'm from.

Its does fluctuate but average is about 40Mb/s, once time i saw 75Mb/s.
The highest I ever seen is when the cable modem was first installed, I had the full bandwidth of the network for a week.
The windows download progress box had 6 figures Kb/s's.
Then they notice on turn it down.
It was cool whilst it lasted 1Gb Files downloading in seconds.

It also helps that the cable provider's junction box is right outside the front door. :^:

Ok, my laptop and desktop still have the same wallpapers as last time (ME-tan and the same one my signature footer was made out of). This time you get to see my grandma's really old e-machine. I don't know how much more of this slow and glitchy machine I can take! Graaawwwwww-!

I doubt you are getting 54 megabytes a second, you are probably getting 54 megabits per second, there is a difference. 54 megabits is roughly little over 6 megabytes a second... standard for a cable modem.

I know it is not megabytes because even cat 5 or 6 is rated to 100 megabits which is roughly 12-13 megabytes. You are not getting anything extra ordinary here.

Now if you had fiber to the house then you would be getting better speeds.

;)
