I read the entire CNet review on that processor. I totally want it, but my wallet doesn't. That damn processor costs more than my computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, my dad's laptop, and my Hi-Fi stereo system combined.

I'm looking forward to the wonderful plummeting price of penryn, I don't need cutting edge and I'm too cheap to pay for it.

Ditto
I'm satisfied with my configuration of Q6600 o/c to 3.2 and 4gb of memory. it does everything i need it to. if i want to dive into extreme gaming, ill just flip on the ps3.

Q6600 has dropped to £146.86 at scan.co.uk, was hoping for something more impressive than that (I'm good at wishful thinking). Its time to replace my Athlon 64 x2 3800+ (socket 939) and join the quad core world.
The performance leap for the i7 isn't quite as high as I was hoping, although I'm really glad Intel have finally decided bringing the memory controller on chip is a good idea. Took them long enough.
