I read the entire CNet review on that processor. I totally want it, but my wallet doesn't. That damn processor costs more than my computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, my dad's laptop, and my Hi-Fi stereo system combined.

I'm looking forward to the wonderful plummeting price of penryn, I don't need cutting edge and I'm too cheap to pay for it.

Ditto

I'm satisfied with my configuration of Q6600 o/c to 3.2 and 4gb of memory. it does everything i need it to. if i want to dive into extreme gaming, ill just flip on the ps3.

Q6600 has dropped to 146.86 at scan.co.uk, was hoping for something more impressive than that (I'm good at wishful thinking). Its time to replace my Athlon 64 x2 3800+ (socket 939) and join the quad core world.

The performance leap for the i7 isn't quite as high as I was hoping, although I'm really glad Intel have finally decided bringing the memory controller on chip is a good idea. Took them long enough.
