Okay:
I have a huge xml file that is essentially a list of of documents in different directories.
I'm wondering if anyone has used Javascript to read the xml file into several arrays for:
1. The creation of a html based menu with hyperlinks to the files in the directories.
2. a simple JS keyword search engine that would search the xml file and return a page with links to the file.
On surface I know what I needs to be done, but I don't want to reinvent the wheel, so does anyone know of good examples of the above. And yes it has to be in JS because it is being distributed on CD.
Alternatively If there is some way to access the built in MS search function in windows I'd be willing to use that instead.
