Ask The Guys
Posted 18 November 2008 - 10:25 AM
A thread for the girls by the guys. From some of what I've been seeing by a few (not ALL and I know that) I believe that some of the girls here have difficulties with the opposite sex. I think it may be from too much MySpace time and not enough real life experiences but none the less there seems to be a few issues. So ask us anything, we can help and we will.

Alright, first one.
What is it with guys and "pissing contests"? Why is it that every guy I meet tries to outperform the prior? Why cant guys just be themselves? What's with the constant need for sarcasm and why cant guys figure out that its a turnoff for girls?
Actually thats five for starters..

That's exactly what it is, a contest where the winner is the one who gets to mate with the female. The need to overcome is more for boosting their already fragile ego, and proving to themselves that they are the better man. It's really sad that guys are programmed like that, but what can you do about culture and society????? Aside from blow it all to hell!!!
Hey Martyr, got room in there for one more??

But its a turnoff to girls, ask any of them. Being witty makes any girl wet but a constant barrage of being mean or sarcastic does the exact opposite. It may turn other guys on but I dont think it really helps with the girls. I may be wrong..where is Olive?
*edit*
Dominance but not sarcasm or the like
Going to play in the snow!! Yippie!

old pic but you get the point! be back later

1. We need to "prove" we are better even if it is blatantly obvious. Women are attracted to the most dominate as you so eloquently pointed out

Oh, great...you want me to be serious? lol. ugh...okay, just this once, and just because I like you.
No, I do not mind sarcasm, as long as it's funny and not aimed at me...or at least let it be funny and not too mean, if it is aimed at me.
In general, I follow this: If you can't make a joke out of it, it's probably not worth saying.
The ability to laugh at oneself is a great asset, and the ability to laugh at others is even better! My mom says, "if you can't say anything nice about someone, sit next to me!"
<edited out this part ...sorry> I'm here for the code, and after that for fun, and jokes are fun. So let's have more sarcasm, guys!
//as if you need encouragement
edit again--this should probably have gone into the ask the girls thread instead...oops!

Not really unique to guys, women are just usually more subtle about it.

Guys generally are themselves. Most women don't like the default, so they try to figure out how to please the women. Unfortunately, the "rules" that women set down seem to most men to be governed by whim.

See prior. This is how most men interact with each other. In general, digs and jabs among guys are rarely taken personally and are just considered part of hanging out. Woman don't like this because they tend to over analyze social situations and feel such interaction has meaning. It doesn't.

Heh heh...I have always wondered why some women seem to spend their lives looking for the perfect man then when they find someone who matches their "mate" criteria they spend the rest of their lives trying to change him...lol

Do you use that slit in your underwear to pee? If not what's it for? Could you use it to stuff and make something look larger? Have you?
