Extreme beginner SQL

What is the best option for me to get a program to type SQL. Something i can download.

I assume you already have a database setup.

If you are using microsoft SQL Server, you can use "SQL Server Management Studio express" to send sql queries to your server.

If you are using MySQL server, you can use MySQL Query Browser to send sql queries to your server.

Both of these tools are free, so try them out.

Any text editor will work fine to create SQL files. You can use Notepad, vim, emacs, notepad++, etc.

My favorite to use for just writing out the sql is Notepad++, free and downloadable
