The IT Crowd

Posted 29 November 2008 - 11:10 AM

Hi All

Does anybody else watch the IT Crowd which is a British made comedy series. I think its really funny it fact the whole family does. I think you can get it in America. It is now on series 2, there are a few clips on U tube but you really need to watch all the episodes. :D

Yeah, I love the IT crowd! I think it's the 3rd series that's currently showing on TV in the UK though, as I have series 1 and 2 on DVD already. Since I don't have a TV and I don't like to watch things on my computer monitor I'll have to wait for a DVD version of series 3, so no spoilers for me please!

US TV is strange. They don't bring over the best UK shows, they steal the scripts and use American actors and "writers". They recently did so well doing this with The Office that they've done more.

They're currently running the first season of "Life of Mars". I watched both versions. The BBC has all the production values of BBC, but I thought the UK one was better. To be honest, it was more intelligent. However, since the show has a lot to do with cultural literacy, the US version makes sense for US viewers.

For the "Eleventh Hour", I thought the US one was a lot slicker and generally more engaging. But the UK one had Patrick Stuart, which is fun.

The brought Cracker over years ago ( UK version features the guy in my icon ); failed horribly.

The good news is they never bothered trying to muck up Dr Who and we get those here, albeit a year behind.

They're probably leaching off a lot more, but those are the ones that come to mind.

They befriended some real men in last night's episode, and the men robbed the bank.

Robbie Coltrane.
He also did a cool factual series where he travelled the world looking at anything with an engine.
He's done loads of comedy for years in the U.K. too.

The I.T. crowd is proper funny.
One that springs to mind is when they had a small fire in the office but the boss was on his way down so rather than put it out they pile up junk in front of the rising flames to hide it. The last thing being the frame of an old crt screen so the boss mistakes the fire for a realistic screen saver.

LOVE THAT ONE! LMAO

@KYA: The UK version of Whose Line Is It Anyway is better.
The guy who hosts the American one is fucking irritating, he's supposed to be the host but he always has to get involved in the games. Prick.

I only watch the brit one because colin and ryan.

Drew Carey is irritating, but the brit version doesn't have the black guy ;)

He can be funny, but he's a little full of himself. Gets over the top at times.

Colin is hilarious.

The 1st Mr Bean movie was nothing more than the best of the episodes with a (stupid) plot.

Although him giving the finger to everyone was hilarious.
