Memorial Day

Posted 26 May 2003 - 04:51 PM

This topic is for all those who fought and died for the United States. Thank you. And to all those veterans who fought and/or lost someone they knew fighting for the United States, thank you too. Semper fidelis.

and what i dont understand is why memorial day is not a day here in canada....

i know that Rememberance Day is, but in WW1 & 2, it took a combined effort.

I'd have to say I agree. I don't fully support most things the US is doing - I'd much rather be in canada. Aside from the fact that crossdressing is not approved of there. I wouldn't fit it. :D

we have crossdressers here too.

just stick to toronto or vancouver, and you're good to go. most other areas of canada (especially the prairies) tend to be more conservative.

yes...
lets get back on topic

Quote

In Flanders Field
By: Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD (1872-1918)
Canadian Army
IN FLANDERS FIELDS the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place, and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.
