Squenix killed the Chrono Trigger remake, so I imagine this project would die a swift death too if it ever got to a level that was interesting ;)

I actually finished most of my engine, I just need to do tile maps and I don't really need anything else. You're free to go nuts with the source code on the 30th when I post whatever I have to my project log.

There is actually a working remake/whatever of FFT. They have an agreement I think with SE and they're about 10-20% done already. They post about it on EoFF.

There's an rpg template for XNA that you could use to learn about what goes into making an rpg.

It looks like a new game. Fan games where they use an original system but make a different game with it are alright, but when they try and reprogram a replica of an existing game (the Ocarina of Time in 2D in Game Maker for example) is when trouble begins.

Speaking of which, I've been focusing on my drawing and storytelling skills since I program all day >.< and so I use RPG Maker 2003 until I finish my own engine and won't have to program it.

I'm using songs from other games simply because I don't feel like composing music, it's alright as long as it's just a hobby game and not sold until the owners of the rights to the specific materials ask you to take them out.

Well it was just an idea.... i've allready made a Final Fantasy Fan game in RPG MAker Xp...

But i wanted to make it in C++

yh...should i post my FF7 fan game i made... ???

its not 100% completed but you can go around about 10 towns and theres tons of extra features.. it even has a materia script.. lol.
