New Years Resolutions

Posted 01 January 2009 - 10:06 AM

I really suck when it comes to New Years Resolutions! Im going to try and keep mine this year. For the past few months before I fall asleep I try to replay my day in my head and I note the things I would have done differently. I play out the situation and think about the way I should have acted, decisions I should have made, etc. I have found that it helps me to make better judgement calls and the like. My issue with this is I fall asleep halfway through. So my resolution this year is to start writing it out (my way of learning) and taking time for it BEFORE bed.

Any of you make promises to yourself at the start of the year?

This might sound weird, but I don't like to talk to people on the phone (not sure why, but I don't like it). Everybody I know complains that I never call them (some even go to the extent of saying I have a huge ego, blah blah blah), so this year my resolution is to call at least one person a day.

I prefer to avoid failure, so I don't make New Year resolutions.

I resolve to drink more whiskey, berate more family members and friends, isolate myself more from the rest of humanity, and denounce all forms of government.

Oh, and get some more exercise I guess.

@absynthe, you do know you can actually put these things called spaces in the topic description, right?

Anyway, i actually am making a resolution. Sometime in June 08, i decided i was going to start doing 100 push-ups a day. Well, i kept that promise a little bit, but most days i was just my lazy self on the computer. Anyway, i've gotten now to where i can do 50 push-ups at a time, so i'm going to pledge to start doing 200 (at least) push-ups a day. It's not like i'm even close to being in bad shape, i guess i'm just at that age where i wanna get really strong and stuff. At least it's a healthy phase.

I began my New Years resolution in July of this past year to lose 100 lbs in 1 year. So far I've lost a little over 50. I used to play football but due to a knee injury, my activity level took a nosedive and I put on that weight. Once I hit that goal, I plan to start running races (starting with a 5/10k or so and moving to a half marathon) .

Hey this is where I'm headed this year. I don't make resolutions per say but just try to do better in general. My newly pregnant wife and I have just started doing a 'pregnancy safe' yoga for the first yoga we've ever done and man it is kicking my butt, major out of shape! So all I can say is go for it! But you might want to start slow, we jumped right in and did the whole session and pushed a bit too hard, felt pretty sick afterward, that stuff takes a lot out of ya.
