I know it's quite an old game, but I was just curious because recently the game got my attention again with all the new media that came out for Diablo III.

Ahhh the only part of that game that I haven't beaten to death (no pun intended) is LOD.

Ya, the game is pretty old, though I still play on occassion, but I don't know if I am going to worry about much more with it.

Diablo III looks amazing, artistically speaking. to be honest, I much prefer it's style to D2's (although nothing beats the original Diablo's tristram, that has to be one of the most moody and atmospheric levels I've ever seen in a game ).

What I hope comes from D3 is a more story driven action adventure role playing game. D1 did good with the adventure and story aspects, but D2 kind of fell short. It also seems like they're making the game more streamlined, which is something else I hoped for.

oh and sorry, I didn't know there was already a Diablo 3 thread. Maybe a mod could merge this thread with that one?

1) Diablo II * is not "old"
2) Diablo * is way cooler and better in nearly every aspect (minus that of the lacking ability to run, few unfixed bugs, and lacking array of items) than Diablo II or LoD
3) Diablo III is NOT anything like Diablo II, if nothing else, it's God of War III for PS2.

I used to play it up 'til September of '08, I sold approx. 40 characters (original names + the "best" gear for all), and like 8-9 accounts for some money.

I played until one of the more recent (i think) patches came out (1.13?)

The game destroyed my freshman and sophmore year of highschool

It was fun though, I will never get that Annihlus back

And now Diablo 3 is here.. altho I heard a lot of Diablo fans complaining that the dark eerie atmosphere which is inherent to Diablo series is being scrapped.. which isnt what they like.. Diablo 3 is bright.. with great graphics !

Diablo had the best graphics out of the entire Diablo series.
Not to mention Diablo had the best storyline... Pretty much it's way better than any other in the series.

The only "down-sides" I can think of about Diablo would be the lacking ability to run, a few misc. bugs how the characters are stored (via client-side), the lame hacked items/hacks that people use still... That about sums it all up.

Diablo > Diablo II > Diablo III (more like God of War)
