In that case i advise you to use BT3, which is a beautiful distro... based on KDE and contains all wireless and hacking tools you need smile.gif
It can be used also for network penetration testing...

I like windows. Very stable, and if you know what you are doing, it runs fine, and runs all the applications i need it to.

Linux is nice but not what I am looking for. It has broken on me too many times.

:o

Dude...I think you have it completely ass backwards...

I'd say Windows before I had Vista installed... NOW it's Linux for me - it's more stable, less bugy (thanks God I have yet to see an error that can't be fixed) and more configurable.

I hate to say it, but Windows really isn't that bad if you use it properly. I run on a limited account all the time (a characteristic I received from Linux), have NOD32 installed and don't do any stupid virus downloading.

The problems I have with Windows are usually driver problems (which I always find a solution for). Every other problem I have is generally my own fault.

I'm not saying Windows is better than Linux (I hate Mac, though), but I think it gets most of its reputation from "stupid" people.

Just my opinion,
Fuzz

Linux > OS X > Windows

Overall I like linux the best. I'm big on flexibility and customization. The stability is pretty awesome too. One thing that annoys me to no end with Win & OS X is the need to reboot when I install trivial updates.

I'm a lot more accustomed to *Nix than Windows, to be quite frank. When doing everyday tasks, I find myself being a lot more productive. I don't, however, find GNU/Linux to be very stable all the time. It's free though, and I don't have to click next a billion times. I also like having the option with many programs to download and install the precompiled binaries for some programs or compile them myself.

I have used Windows since i was three, and have used Linux off and on for a couple months. I do .NET programming, and have made my life revolve around programs only for Windows, so my personal choice is Windows. I am not saying Windows is better, in fact, it's probably worse when it comes to performance and stability, but it is what i use and prefer.

Windows > Mac os X > Linux

Window's has to come top for me because I'm an avid gamer - it's simply impossible to get hold of top titles for other operating systems. But there are other reasons as well.

I use my PC for gaming, programming, browsing the internet, watching movie's, listening to music and somtimes composing it as well - all of which it does perfectly well under Windows, so I really don't see any valid advantage in moving over to Linux yet for me personally. A lot of the extra features in Linux (better customization, scripting, shell tools) are nice, but I'd rarely use them.

I disagree with the notion that Windows isn't very stable - earlier versions were terrible I admit, but I've not really experienced any problems on any of my XP SP2 installations, even though I frequently install and remove programs.

These days the argument isn't as much as "Which is better?", but rather "Which is most ethically correct?"

Have fun paying for Windows. (Mac is much worse, price-wise, in my opinion.)

Paying for Windows is more ethical than downloading Linux for free (if you don't give back to the developers somehow).

I think the latest version of OS X is cheaper than the latest version of Windows when they are released.

The question isn't "Which is better?" or "Which is most ethically correct?". The real question is "Which is better for me?".

OS stability is realistically more of a question of driver quality than it is of OS quality (as a whole).

I can't speak for OS X but having to reboot after installing just about any kind of driver in Windows drove me batty. Linux was (and still is) a welcome change. :^:

Yeah, 'cause I love installing mac on a PC I custom built myself .

The stereotypical Linux developer doesn't do it for a return. I suppose stereotypical is the key word :/
