I can highly recommend Adobe Premiere and Sony Vegas, both allow you to add special effects, add sounds and music, text and credits, as well as compressing and burning your videos.

Sony vegas! it cost $500 but! its really easy to rip off the internet!

my vote goes to adobe premiere. but its expensive and has a learning curve. still basic stuff is easy but you cant beat the price of movie maker.
