What OS you working with? I believe it is the same version I have installed. I just downloaded Eclipse classic to use on Windows and did the Sudo apt-get for my laptop.

Homemade-Jam - you want in on this (You and anyone is more than welcome to help out)? I am going to set up a google group and once we get everything needed to set up the source forge that way we don't have to keep using this thread for the petty discussions and we can leave it open to people interested in helping out.

I'm on Windows, but have Ubuntu, but I want to get it on my Windows partition and I tried the downloads and they only have the files for Eclipse! There isn't even a setup file, it's the files that would be in C:/program files/ directory (and I put them there aswell and tried it). I think I'll just use the one on my Ubuntu partition to save me the hassle.

A lightweight Java API that is designed to be used with embedded devices. Check out their website http://www.trolltech.com

I'm on mac os x but am dual booting with windows and have 4 or 5 linux distros too... and as to the advantages of QT... it's insane... only 400 classes I think total... instead of 4000... The animation ability for it is insane as well and it's built for embedded systems such as phones..> For example... Safari for iphone is built completely in QT(but the C++ version). Take a look at QT, it is basically java, and you still code completely with java so i'm pretty sure it should work on the G1.

I do not think QT Jambi can be used for Android development at this time.

So I will go ahead and set up a google group for this and post the information - we can then start the planning phase and get this bad boy moving.

Ya i'm in the same boat as Locke and i can speak for Trigga as well as he's in my class.. The amount of work we can put in will be based on school. But nevertheless I would love to contribute as much as I can!Cheers

Eclipse doesn't have an installer. Just unzip your download and run eclipse.exe inside the folder and it should be all sweet (provided your have the right JRE installed)

Looks like we are shooting for the planner application. We can discuss the logistics in the Google group.

I created the group so go ahead and join up. We will begin discussing and planning out or project. For now I left it open to the public but if it becomes a hassle with spammers etc., I will have to lock it down I guess. This is my first google group so let me know if you guys have any trouble with it.
