I'm planning to do an inventory with online ordering system for our thesis project,,any suggestions may help,,im thinking to use php but i have a little knowledge about it,,and about the payment for the system can i do it another way without using credit cards, just may be a confirmation calls or email that will verify the orders..thanks :)any help or suggestions will be a great help

Buy* O'reily's "Programming PHP" and work through the examples. That should, if not get you up speed, at least a little familiar w/ the language.

Something to keep in mind when your doing a system like that; think security from the very beginning and assume the hacker knows your code better than you do.
