CSS for Colored Scrollbars in IE won't work on more than one page

Post icon  Posted 03 February 2009 - 03:45 AM

I'm currently working on my own personal website and I decided to add my own little spin on it by adding a custom cursor as well as colored scrollbars which match the color of the color scheme for the various page logos (which are all the same color)

I'm doing the coding using a mixture of CSS and HTML with CSS being a true learning experience but an interesting one.

The problem I have is that even though the CSS code for the cursor works fine on all the pages that I've coded so far, the CSS code for the scrollbars for some reason only work on the main page and not the other pages.

I added the code between the <head> and </head> tags as required and I got the results that I mentioned above.

This is the code that I'm referring to:

<style>
body {
scrollbar-base-color: #3A7DDA;
scrollbar-arrow-color: #FFFFFF;
}
</style>

<style type="text/css">body, a, a:hover {cursor: url(http://cur.cursors-4u.net/anime/ani-1/ani188.cur), default;}</style><a href="http://www.cursors-4u.com/" target="_blank" title="Cursors"><img src="http://cursors-4u.com/support.gif" border="0" alt="Free Cursors" style="position:absolute; top: 0px; right: 0px;" /></a>

If anyone has any ideas on how I can fix it, I'd be very interested to hear them.

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

I know it's almost a stupid question, but are you sure you added the scrollbar code between the <head></head> tags on EVERY page?

I definitely added the scrollbar code between the <head</head> tags on every page.

<a href="http://www.coupons-coupon-codes.com/books/" class="frontpage" set="yes" linkindex="8">B&amp;N Bookstore</a></p>
<p align="center"><b><font size="4" class="frontpage">The above number is the number of victi...I mean people who have visited this fine site of culture since it went online. Bwa-Ha-Ha-Ha!</font></b></p>
<font class="vtm">
<a href="Index-1.html" target="_blank"><p align="center" class="frontpage">- enter -</p>
</a>
</font>
<span class="frontpage">&#169 BorgmanJayce. All logos, pictures and related <a href="http://www.louvre.fr/llv/commun/home.jsp?bmLocale=en">objet d'art</a> are &#169 and &#174 of their respective owners and creators.
</span>
</body>
</html>

This is the code for the main front page if anyone wants to view it.

My advice would be to take all that stuff you have between the style tags and stick it into the stylesheet I assume you already have (frontpage.css). Also, for future reference, there's no need for multiple style tags. You can put all the style coding you want into a single style tag. I think the multiple tags along with the link are causing the problem.
