Can't connect to SQL Databases
Posted 20 February 2009 - 01:24 PM
I downloaded AdventureWorks2008 and I can only connect to 1 database (ReportServer$SQLEXPRESS2TempDB).
Why can't I connect to AdventureWorks2008_Data or any of the others? Will there be any problems using SQLEXPRESS2 instead of SQLEXPRESS?
Now when I try to connect I get an file activation error. It says physical file name (the path is correct except the last qualifier is \Documents),
it should be the .mdf qualifier instead. I don't have any code because I used the "connect to database" feature in Visual Studio. Also, I wasn't able to screen
print the dialod error box. Do you know how in Windows XP? Thanks

I can't help wondering if you followed the correct download procedure, and from the correct download location(?).
I have downloaded these sample database and have no trouble accessing any of them. Perhaps it would be a good idea to uninstall & then perform a reinstall. But make sure you use the correct download site as below, all the best:
