but seriously, if this is a "heated" topic and we're keeping it "intelligent" i'm scared of what might be the next topic in this forum.

No really. When do you consider somebody to be your "Friend?"
Do you treat them special?

What if they stole from your? Your other friend(s), family?
What if they quit talking to you for a long period of time? Do you still treat them as a "Friend?"

Do you take "advantage" of your "Friendship?" Do you think it's right? If you don't think it's right, why would you?
I have a whole array of questions but I'll stop there.

Is it me, or do you try to uphold the rules of the site WAYYYYY too much for your own good? Just let people be. They get pushy when you tell them how to act. Let the mods/admins/Chris do their job.

No I wouldn't consider them a friend if they stole something from me. For me, it's very difficult to gain my trust back once you've lost it. It's not so hard to get it if I don't know you or just met you.

I don't take advantage of my friends (to my knowledge).

"To my knowledge?" By that you mean from your own personal perspective of how life is and how you should treat friends?

Precisely. By someone else's views, I may be taking advantage of them. But by mine, I'm fair with them.

good point locke, chris actually says that only they should be checking on the topics. and if you're not one of these then shut up and don't try to act like one of the top people.

anyways, one should keep their friends as close as possible, but not try to hold them back from anything. don't try to make it about you all the time instead be considerate about each others feelings.

I think the term you are referring to is Friends with benefits.

i have a lot of people i'm "friendly" with but only one person i call a friend.
I re-evaluated a lot of what i termed friendship when my "best" friend of ten years groped my girlfriend.
Just goes to show what trusting people gets you

I'm not refering to sexually intimate friends. I'm refering to simply friends. As for the "Friends with benefits," I'm well aware of that term and that's not what I'm refering to. Friends with benefits, eg: He'll pay for food when-ever you go somewhere, or he'll pay for gas <- Taking advantage of somebody

In response to the idiot who said "One of the top people:" There is no such thing as a "top people," the web-master is no greater than I. If anything, I'm greater than him. Simply because I don't think that lowly of people. But, thankfully, I don't think of him like that, and the picture you're painting of him is or isn't true (seeing as how he hasn't responded in defense of it, or acceptance).
