Kick ass, but I think another, not so plain, font should be used.

any font suggestions ?

By the way I copied that background snowflake image from images.google.com , is that all right? I don't want to make any lawyer angry. ;)

No font in particular but definitely check if you can modify/redistribute it.

Good :^:

Seeing that I'm (apparently) the head developer, I've split Snow IDE into six sections to ease development:
1. Editor - A generic tabbed editor with syntax highlighting and maybe auto indentation.
2. Menu and toolbars - general commands, tools and icons (probably Tango or Silk Icon Set).
3. Windows, dialogs and internal frames - general monitors, viewers, wizards etc.
4. Building, JARing and Running - It's all in the title and for running Ant may be used.
5. IO - creating/managing files/folder (these developers will be linked with almost all other team).
6. Linking - links the finished (or semi-finished) sections to finish off the IDE.

Developers don't have to limit themselves to just one but I'm gonna be on all of them because I'm fantastic :D

Now, all developers that offered there help please send me and email with your SourceForge username so I can add you (please check my profile for my email). Does anyone have any specific want for either CVS or SVN, I prefer CVS.

Hey guys, the Open source Java IDE project seems interesting and challenging ;) If i had the time i would have joined you in the project but i am already involved in other projects and i have to keep some time for studying, anyways i see that you will need to make an editor with syntax highlighting, in that case i recommend checking out the osertmiller Java syntax which can help you in making your syntax editor for the IDE
http://ostermiller.o...tax/editor.html
good luck and have fun with your project :)

I personally use the JEdit Syntax Package at SourceForge (http://sourceforge.n...s/jedit-syntax/) and it's brilliant! It comes with a ton of documentation and has loads of extra methods. So we may use that.

Hey abgorn , we should first make a SRS documentation for the project . So that we all could have a clear and detailed idea of the project .

SRS = Software requirement specification:
http://en.wikipedia....s_Specification

As an example:
http://www.scribd.co...ternet-Cafe-LOC
You can always google for more examples .
Try this keyword also :"inurl:sourceforge software requirement specification"

We can download this template and work on it to create our SRS
