I personally do not have a preference for and IDE. Eclipse or Netbeans is for when i have really large projects. If I am just testing 1 file then maybe JCreator or a Text Editor works just fine.

I'd go with Eclipse, but I haven't used netbeans in a while, maybe I should try it out again.... Last time I used it I remember it being pretty slow and kinda buggy, but I've heard a lot of good things about it recently.

I write code in J2SE and J2ME and use NetBeans 6.5 only because ME features of NetBeans >> Eclipse.
