I'm not aware of any image manipulation functions within ColdFusion itself, there may be some custom tags available to create images, but I've never looked. Hop on over to Macromedia's site and check out their ColdFusion Exchange.

wouldnt you just do a query in a loop that shows how long the bar would be? i.e. display a 1pixel image 100 times if health is at 100%?

no and no. it works with html much like php does. and web hosts who buy the $1000+ license from macromedia sell it. you have to ask each individual host.

Yeh, that's the easy way... I thought he was specifically looking for an image manipulation/generation solution.
ColdFusion is an entire application language, it looks just like HTML, but that's where the similarity ends. ColdFusion is a rapid application development language which requires the Macromedia ColdFusion server installed (as sloth said)
Finding a web host with ColdFusion is pretty easy, but they are much more expensive than a normal host because of the cost of the server.
