Posted 14 May 2001 - 07:01 AM

i'm having serious issues with netscape 6......a site im working on looks fine in IE, NS 4.7, but not NS6.  the page has a lot of tables in it and it looks all jacked when viewed in NS6.  anything i can do to the coding of this so it will look right in NS6?

Some things I've noticed about NN6
NN6 still can't handle <div>
When setting tables and cells avoid pixels go for percentage (this helped me survive my sidebar and pop-up windows, but be forewarned never set an image or object(esp swf's) in a cell to 100% of that cell it will crash almost everytime. 98% or less and it might survive.
Layer tags don't jive with NN to well either. However NN6 can handle <iframe>
On the other hand maybe we all should just ignore NN6 and it will go away because no one will use it LOL

NS6 adhears to the standards set by the W3C too strictly, hence why things break in it :(

Ns6 doesnt even allow you to dl a shockwave plugin cause its not a compatible. it seems like a downgrade over 4.7

Erm the download you can get from Macromedia works with NS6 & current version of Mozilla (0.9.4 iirc), I've got it running here and it works fine.
