.NET Applications

Posted 31 March 2009 - 10:14 AM

I just had a question about .NET and it's current market share. I know that Microsoft hasn't used the .NET framework much (according to my information) but there are other companies using it, right? What applications utilize it? How can you tell when an application or GUI is constructed with the .NET framework? Are there any games, handheld device applications, etc.?

Anything that has "Games for Windows" usually has .NET. It's often shipped as "VS C++ 2005 Redistributable" to allow the platform to have access to various .NET things. If you can look at its source, its easy to tell what is using .NET, if not, you can tell by its behavior, generally speaking.
