Networking Dsl HELP!

Networking Dsl
Posted 24 November 2004 - 12:17 PM
I just Networked a LAN in my house. 1 computer upstairs, main connection downstairs(DSL modem, hub...connects to a proxy server because of my g/f's job) The Internet works fine however if I click a link that requires opening a new window (Bank site, kid's site that requires flash etc.) it opens a new browser window and acts as if the connection was lost (This page cannot be displayed etc.) The IP settings seem fine and I can't seem to figure out what is causing this. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Windows XP and the most updated version of I Explorer...no alternatives have yet been tried... The computer downstairs works perfectly fine. Only one other computer is networked upstairs and it is the only the one that has this issue....Its annoying the hell out of me

I guess it has nothing to do with the Network and everything to do with IExplorer. I just downloaded Netscape and everything works just fine. I have no clue whats wrong still but I guess I will just continue to use Netscape on this computer. Does anyone have any comments as to the pro's and cons between Netscape and IE? I just noticed IE looks a little more generic than Netscape. Anyways any comments would be appreciated. Thanks guys! And thank you Mr. Supersloth for the help!
