Check Syntax

Posted 06 April 2009 - 07:11 PM

Hello everyone

I'm writing an application in Java, that connects to Derby via JDBC, this statement:

LOCK TABLE MAIL IN EXCLUSIVE MODE; DELETE FROM MAIL WHERE ID = 18

is not working for me when I try to execute it via my program, it returns "java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: Syntax error: Encountered ";" at line 1, column 34.". When I run this from the command line, it works fine.

Can someone just give me a sanity check on the syntax?

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

Knowing nothing about JDBC or Derby, could it be that multiple queries are disallowed?
