Visual studio is the broad term for all the products of that version ( eg. VS6, VS2003,2005,2008)
VB6 is the program, visual basic, and is part of the whole package.
BTW, my VB6 on my vista laptop lags a bit so i would have a think about it before using it.
Although not reliable, read this article.

yes, VS contains VB. as long as you have a proper copy.
Vb6 is like 10 years old and vista is like 2 years old. Its just too old for new operating systems.

vb, c# are the programming languages you can use to write your programs.
Visual Studio is an Integrated Development Environment (I.D.E. for short), which supports those language.
Its what gives you Intellisense, Debugging Tools and the Form Designer.

There are definite changes from vb6 (which was included in Visual Studio 6) to VB2008(included in VS2008) which is now an object oriented language supporting inheritance and polymorphism. VB6 couldn't do that, but simulated it in a way. There are also a few things in the GUI design part which are different, but several things in the code. Mostly in the GUI, it's what properties are called. IE: label.caption doesn't exist. all .caption properties are now .text properties to be more consistent.
(don't flame me for calling properties GUI based, just trying to explain it easily)
Bottom line, if you know 6 .net versions of VB will thrill you even more.
