Like he really could... First of all, the Internet is global and thus he could just turn off access in the US. Secondly, if he shuts down ISPs and stuff, it just means I break out my old modem and setup a bbs. Unless he plans on shutting down phone networks too, dialup will still reign and thus still internet accessible. Lastly, unless he can tell providers to let government computers through, shutting down the net just means he is shutting down his own government from accessing information. Believe you me, I am sure Obama uses Google from time to time.

This. I wonder if the guy who said "the internet is a series of tubes" is behind this...
That bill idea is quite possibly the dumbest thing I have ever read in 21 years.
