Been using php and mysql for around 2 years. I've partially coded a remotely hosted message board system plus a couple cms's for personal sites. Right now i'm not doing anything :( need some ideas waiting for something to come to mind.

I'm a web designer/seo guy who's looking to get into web developing/programming.

I started learning PHP a few months ago and although I'm at the novice stage, I'm hoping to make a switch to PHP developer (career wise) in a year or so!

I got into PHP through hacking communities, so my code is secure. Currently, I'm in the virtual pet site niche. I watch sites develop, program for some, and sometimes think about starting my own.

Lately, I've actually been doing more Flash than PHP. =\ Just the other day though, I got nostalgic so I came back here. :)

Hey there,

I have been programming in PHP for 10 years now. I currently have my own website http://www.williamlang.net

I work for a company where we make fitness software. I have currently ported over the entire Windows application to the web using PHP as the server side language, with a MSSQL backend.

I am currently developing my own CMS where the goal is for easy adding of open source plugins.

I've been using and learning PHP since 2003/04, used it for just about everything I've ever done since, I've knocked together image gallery scripts, basic forums, an IRC bot, Image hosting site, shoutboxes, blogs, a dating website and a crappy MySpace clone.

Currently coding a short URL website, mainly for fun and experience using PHP (along with jQuery). I'm also currently learning to use the Symfony and Smarty PHP frameworks in the hope of being able to develop data-intensive apps more quickly and efficiently.

My PHP kung fu is weak. I've played with it a little here and there for about a year. In my real life I'm a mainframe dinosaur stricken with the COBOL/DB2/CICS virus. Since I became a dinosaur 13 years ago I was told I would go extinct soon.

I get the most satisfaction from my work in helping others make the DB apps run faster. IBM/DB2 performance is and art and a science. There are a lot of very unartistic developers and administrators out there.

I really enjoy open source windows & web programming because there is so much to learn and it's so flexible. I've built my own golfing app using PHP/MySQL to track my scores, individual course stats, and the like. When I retire and join the PGA tour perhaps I can sell it to all my traveling pals.

Been learning php for the last couple of months or so. I want to get into the industry full time; but with little experience finding it hard work. Am starting to look at OOP in PHP, have built some classes and objects for fun. Ive looked at shopping carts, paged results,CMSes, Login apps and MySQL - the fundamentals really. I like how you don't need an IDE, just get yourself a host, a text editor and your'e away! :)

Howdy,

As a programmer, I use php for making sites. I also use it to build custom modules, components, and plugins on Wordpress and Joomla CMS. I am also the one deciding what CMS to use for a project.

Hi, I've been doing php for a few months now (just got out of school 2 months ago). Currently working with TYPO3 CMS at work, mainly developping/improving applications. Plan to do some freelance projects in the future as well.
