Re: Java Programmer Roll Call

Well, I was (still kind of am, just haven't coded much lately, too many other things to do. I haven't been around the Java forum(s) much for a bit) making an IRC Chat program, using the PircBot from jibble. The bot does all of the work with the messages and things, I just supply some GUI components and features of my own application ideas, tie them all together, and voila. But making the display be correct and messages show up correctly (with PMing abilities and such) has been quite a task.

Other than that, I have made a small calculus program for differentiating and integrating basic polynomial functions. (kind of a dead project, since I wrote it kind of confusingly) It only works under certain conditions, since I tried it with multiple terms and it kind of fell apart.

And I've also made several little ticky-tack programs over my 2 years of programming. (started programming at the beginning of senior year of high school, and it's almost the end of my first year of college).

:)

Hi! Right now I'm not really doing much of anything in Java, though I did make a binary conversion program on Easter because I was THAT bored. >_> I was also working on some tutorials, but I've been busy lately.

Hello Fellow java programmers!

I am as well a java programmer from Alberta, Canada! Woop... anyways, currently I am working on a few different project written entirely in java. The first and my main project is an autonomous robot driver. It's basically a program that controls a cluster of robot's for many different uses and uses an AI back end(built by different people) to allow the robot's to work in teams. The entire app is built around a "node" environment so the robot's can all communicate with one another using the TCP/IP protocol. The project is still under development and will be eventually released as an open source AI alternative for robot's/devices in a cluster environment.

The second project I'm working on in java right now is a web browser built entirely using the QT Framework. This project however is kinda on hold as my primary project is the one mentioned above. Neither of my projects currently have a website but I will let everyone know when they are up and ready for download!

Good to see the java community here is so strong! Keep it going DIC!

Cheers

I've been working on "this and that" since I'm still in school. Excitingly, the end project this semester is a 3D app using the java monkey engine. Looks to be exciting. I've done collision detection from scratch, JSP/JDBC programming, and a slew of other smallish, miscellaneous java programs.

edited for typos

I am currently in school and just recently have started learning Java. I am really liking it so far. The biggest problem is that I am trying to get my brain to see things in steps instead of the whole thing at once. I guess that to simplify the problem is my biggest problem. I hope to accomplish a lot with Java.

I'm an intermediate level Java programmer. I've got experience with:
-Strings, StringBuffer/Builder
-Arrays (including multi-dimmensional), ArrayLists, LinkedLists
-Some Swing (Weak on layouts, action events)
-Inheritance (Abstract classes, Interfaces, etc.)

Next year I should get more experience b/c I'm taking the AP CS class.

I'd say I'm almost an advanced Java programmer. Java's like peeing on yourself; everyone think your weird but only you get that warm feeling inside from doing it.
