Android Development is done Primarily in Java using Android SDK & Eclipse. So I guess I can be considered a Java Developer in a sense.

Can I join the ranks?

I just started my Computer Science 2 class about java. I am very interested in programming for a living. Next year, my senior year of High School I am looking to take AP Computer Science, Honors Calc, and AP Physics B plus whatever other random classes I need to take. I am part of my Robotics Club, were we join robotics competitions and compete all over New Jersey. We just won Best Original Design in the Panasonic Creative Design Challenge. I am also interested in web design and graphics design.

We had one team that went to the FIRST competition, I was not part of that team since I was working on the Panasonic one. Our school is Hunterdon Central Red Devil Robotics. Do not know if you heard of us or not.

Well, I definitely wouldn't consider myself a Java programmer (not yet anyway) but I'm in the process of teaching it to myself as well as taking an online course offered through my community college (the course is crawling through Java, a two month long 2 lessons per week thing that I'm only taking so I can have a fancy certificate that can get me into AP Java at my high school :P). So if you would want to add me to that list you have going there, it would infinitely boost my self esteem. :D

fox! present and ready for orders sir!

most of my experience is in java (4 years), but i've been programming in c++ for about 3. to me their pretty much the same that's why anytime i submit a c++ snippet i submit java as well.

i'm learning mostly data structure type stuff (i'm mostly oo... talk about irony). i'm one of the only few in my class(3-4) who actually works with java.personally i like writing calculators and convertors. also random programs. i'm OCD about them...

Well, I've been working with Java professionally for about a year now.

I do mostly Java EE stuff, but have also worked on Swing desktop apps.

I started out doing freelance development, and currently work part time for a company in the airline industry.

Not quite as academically inclined as other high schoolers here, but, I have benefited a lot from them letting me work for half the day.
