  1. In Topic: Canvas problems in my Samsung Galaxy S4

    Posted 26 Jan 2014

    I finally found a solution. This is a known android 4.1+ error that seems to happen mainly in Samsung (S2+) devices. Read more about the issue here: https://code.google....detail?id=39247.

    In short, the following code solved my problem:

    stage.update();
    var canvas = document.getElementById("myCanvas");
    canvas.style.opacity = 0.99;
    setTimeout(function()
    {
        canvas.style.opacity = 1;
    }, 1);

    So it is not a PhoneGap or CreateJS problem!

    It seems be related to phonegap. When I upgraded to 3.3.0 the problem didn't go away, but I don't get it that much any more. So, hopefully phonegap will improve it in the future.

    I tried out the phonegap debugging as well and didn't get it to work properly. Besides, I think the issue is some sort of system malfunction for samsung devices. I tested this on the emulator and in normal browsers and it works swell.
    I'm going to test to upgrade my phonegap to the latest (3.3) version and see if it makes any thing better or worse.

    Thank you for the tip, blankwavercade, I didn't know that. I tried it and it didn't work. That solution only seems to work for actually running pages in your browser on the phone (that part I got running), but I run my app in a WebView which didn't work well with the debugging.

    I did however find out that the same thing happens on Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, so it isn't just Galaxy S4 that has the problem. Hasn't anyone had this problem when developing HTML 5 apps with animations before?
