When you extend BaseClass, you can specify the type by doing the following (as an example):
```
class Child extends BaseClass<Integer>{}
```
Keeping it generic:
```
class Child<T> extends BaseClass<T>{}
```
Specifying the actual data type when extending the class did the trick! Simple solution, thanks for the assist macosxnerd101!
