  1. In Topic: Outlook for Mac, storing mail on a network drive

    Posted 11 Jun 2012

    This actually didn't work unfortunately. I move the stuff over to the network drive, create an alias in its place, but Outlook complains and tries to rebuild the db. I've tried moving just the folder that contains mail (contacts, etc are less important), but it still complains.

    Put

    around your code.

    It seems like you're trying to do a sort-of hangman type game, right? Maybe you could store the sentence's letters into an array or something and copy them to a new one as they are being guessed. Once that array is full, complete.
  5. In Topic: Comparing string to a text file

    Posted 16 May 2012

    The first step is to know how to read in a text file.

    public static void read() {
    		BufferedReader br = null;

    		try {

    			String sCurrentLine;

    			br = new BufferedReader(new FileReader("/Users/eikkaj/Desktop/file.txt"));

    			while ((sCurrentLine = br.readLine()) != null) {
    				System.out.println(sCurrentLine);
    			}

    		} catch (IOException e) {
    			e.printStackTrace();
    		} finally {
    			try {
    				if (br != null)br.close();
    			} catch (IOException ex) {
    				ex.printStackTrace();
    			}
    		}

    	}

    That should read in the file and print it to console, then you just need to compare input with what your user inputs as the "text message"
