PC makers are trying to leave the PC market as there is not much profit margin left in it. This is because hardware has become so cheap that anyone can build their own computer. The only reason this is not happening to Apple is because they use proprietary hardware that the average user can not get a hold of without going through Apple themselves. As per your argument that developers should not be leaving the apple iOS, look at it this way, when developing for iOS you have a lot of hoops you must jump through just to write your code for it and then more hoops to go through just to get the app on the Apple store. With Android, you don't have all those headaches. With that said, would you rather develop 1 app in 10 weeks and go through the headaches of getting it on the Apple store or would you rather develop 10 apps in 10 weeks and put them all on the Android marketplace?
