I love programming and science (almost became a chemist). My favorite languages are C#, Java, Python and PHP. While I am not programming I enjoy movies that feature something medieval (Gladiator, Braveheart etc) or high tech (like Hackers or Swordfish).

I have a diploma in computer science and another in arts and science. My favorite sciences are astronomy, chemistry and geology.

If you have any questions regarding programming, you will find I live and breathe the stuff and should prove an invaluable asset.

Winner of 22 2008-2012 DIC Community Awards including Blog of the Year, Mentor of the Year, DIC Head of the Year, Most helpful Programming Category, Most Helpful in Web Development Category and overall Nicest Member of the year.

No! The conditions are horrible. He gives me only moldy bread and dirty water... which one would expect being in a persons basement. But the horrific part is that he gave me a pentium 2 windows 98 machine to code on! That is severe neglect and torture!

How is Skyhawk133's basement? He's protecting you from those rogue rays of sunlight and giving you an engless supply of Java in return for code, right?

People have a right to comment as they like. Unless they are completely vulgar and rude, no need to remove them. I do try to help people find info too. I am cool like dat!

ABeginner, people's profiles are not the place to ask questions. Nor is it a place to ask for homework help without providing any code. Please be sure to post your questions in the forum where many people can help you. Thanks! :)

The blog entry is in Java but it is very very similar to what it would be in C++. Use it as a guide to help you develop the loops you need. Things to notice about it is the nested loop structure and how those loops are setup to print rows and columns. Hope it helps! If not, ask your question in the forum and others will pitch in to help! :)

ABeginner, C++ can get a bit tedious for some beginners learning programming, but never let it get you down. The lessons it teaches you will serve you well. As for your problem, the answer is a post I made on my blog. An entry titled "Building Shapes with Loops" and it includes the diamond shape. http://www.dreamincode.net/forums/index.php?app=blog&blogid=114&showentry=639
