    PS4 for sure.

Two big features on the XBox that turned me off the idea of buying it:

    1. Cannot play used games.
    2. Pay for online play.

I don't live in the US and many of those features touted as 'revolutionary' (seriously, a voice activated remote...) won't even work. I also don't give a single shit about sports.

I'll be getting myself a PS4 for sure.

I use a framework nearly every time, CakePHP in this case as it's really similar to Ruby on Rails.

I recently built a product using pure PHP files and it's a clusterf*ck. Too much mental gymnastics keeping file locations in check, not mixing HTML and PHP, etc. Give me a well structured project with a nice view organisation any day.

What happens when a new hire comes on and I have to spend time teaching his the structure of this project. What about the next project?

Frameworks gives projects consistency and that's key for any project.

Seriously, PHP sucks. Yeah, that's the code hipster view. But the fact remains the vast majority of dynamic websites use PHP on the back end. If you haven't already -- and I know you've been a Rails guy in the past (when it was hip) -- learn some of the frameworks, like CodeIgniter, Laravel, Cake.

Where I work they just used plain old .php files in a completely unorganized fashion. Adding new features to one of the many random 'modules' of the behemoth is a nightmare. Job security for the senior dev I suppose.

When I was tasked with starting out a new PHP project from scratch I researched CodeIgniter, Laravel, Kohana and CakePHP; in the end I chose CakePHP because it had a nice Rails feel to it and let me get to work faster than the others.

Still, it's PHP. I don't want my wrists to hurt from typing $this->set('someViewVariable', $studentsEnrolled);. ;)

I was hounding the internet for something new to satisfy my inner hipster and found Meteor. I think I'm going to be focusing on this for the coming weeks seeing where it takes me. I like Javascript a lot because it's very simple and I like the object literal notation.

    What do you guys think?

Hello Sergio, I came across a tutorial of yours of a fahrenheit/celcius temperature converter and the links of the final solution you posted have died out. I would really appreciate if you could refresh those links as I am trying to learn programming and trying to complete this exercise with some questions. Here is the link to the tutorial. Thanks

    Hey Sergio,
Just wanted to stop by and say that after seeing Codecademy so often in your signature I visited the site. Currently working my way through the JavaScript Tutorials for refresher course (only one I have experience with in the catalog so far), but once done with it I plan on hitting up Ruby or JQuery. Definitely a worthwhile learning tool and thanks for sharing!

Actually, he managed to shit on Java, C#, and Lambdas. He's talented. We should vote him up for that, I guess.

Heh, I'm beginning to think you have made a vow to offset each and every downvote I ever deliver. That said, I can't for the life of me figure out why you did it here: http://www.dreamincode.net/forums/topic/246564-java-8-lambda-syntax-has-been-mostly-finalized/page__view__findpost__p__1431150
The guy just shat on C# and dismissed lambdas as 'confusing' all at the sam...

Haha, I did the same thing.. to much less embarrassment now. XD I often find myself not really caring how characters evolve over x years later in sequels, but I have to say I loved how Garrus turned out. Those parts added a LOT of awesome to the game.
