  1. In Topic: Help understanding/calculating bandwidth (I'm streaming video).

I don't think the traffic data usage would bother you as web hosting companies nowadays are facing neck to neck competitions to provide the best services, a lot of them actually offers unlimited storage and traffic usage. the thing that you have to watch for is whether the host you chose has enough bandwith capacity to provide smooth concurrent video streaming with multiple viewers at the same time. No viewers will be happy to experience a lot of slow buffering process while viewing. good luck with the site tho :punk:
  2. In Topic: Dress code at work(in IT of course)

    Posted 25 Jun 2013

Anything I feel like wearing as long as not being overly "stupid" :D..

Well it's because the work that I do don't interface directly with clients and customers ( as if we are invisible), so the IT dept is exempt from wearing those uptight office wears
  3. In Topic: Creating a small file-hosting server

    Posted 23 Jun 2013

In the end it will depend on how much disposable cash you can spare. I've created Remote Access as well as Site to Site VPN servers for my company, and in order for it to work steadily you'd have to get at least a decent VPN router box or a PC with Windows Server (as I've been working with mostly MS stuffs) that's able to service the Remote Clients and put your files on the same box as shown www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKdE5p0MVl0. From there it's just a matter of NTFS and file sharing permission to control the Access Rights for each users. But if you are just looking to set up a simple file sharing server, I'd consider ryanisis' suggestion.
  4. In Topic: What do you do to pass the time while plugging away at code?
