Yes... I get that.
ronan085, on 17 May 2013 - 11:01 PM, said:The matrix multiplying order is right i got the equation from the collada specifications(1.5).
Doesn't tell me anything. Where specifically did you get it from. You're asking me to trust your interpretation when you are concerned there is something wrong with your calculations.
ronan085, on 17 May 2013 - 11:01 PM, said:The translation, rotation and scaling have all been combined together into one matrix through some other equation when the model was exported from blender. so multiplying by the MatrixPallette should do all of them.
Probably where you're going wrong. Don't recall ever seeing more than to matrices combined for a transformation.
ronan085, on 17 May 2013 - 11:01 PM, said:The transformation is from the the current position of the model.
Well, if something is going wrong maybe you should try performing scaling and rotation from the world origin. -

How do you want to change the vertex position, as in what kind of transformation are you after? You do multiply one matrix by another to get a result, but you have to be careful about the order and positioning of the modern when you perform the transform. Are you doing it from the origin, for example, and are you scaling after rotating? -

Do you mean something like billboarding, where the model orientates itself to a fixed position from the user's camera perspective? -

As I say to so many, there is no defined or guaranteed path to making games - the beginning is where you find that niche that allows you to understand enough to write your first game. It's different for everyone. -

I am not trying to dump anything on anyone, I think that comment was a bit presumptuous and rude. I was simply asking for some guidance, help, and suggestions in the world of computer technology. Not everyone is an expert such as yourself. As I said before, I do not understand software, programming, and things of the like, hence my posting here to gain some info. You took my post as being something other than that. I thought this would be a great forum to gain some information, but you have proved me wrong. So, thank you for your reply. I won't be posting here any longer. Have a great day.
I don't get what your problem is. You came on here pointing out you don't know what you want and you expect people to read your mind and fill in the blanks - then develop software from that process?! That is an impossibly tall order.
You need to do some research to get some scope on what you require, clearly not knowing anything will end up leaving you with nothing because no-one will have any idea what you want, and there will likely be feature creep as you realize something isn't working as expected or you want to add some new idea on the fly.
Good luck.
