Xclite I think you hit the nail on the head, although I still don't agree with a 4 hour interview. I don't need to talk to every employee in the company, or worse a panel at the same time to determine if I am a good fit for the company. Maybe I am just being picky, scared of failure, the fact I hate interacting with people regularly.

I kind of did this to myself, because I "strayed" and ate the forbidden fruit. My current employer did not want me to look around without going through them first, however I am being presented opportunities with better compensation. It is hard to resist the money, but at what cost? What are the trade-offs.

When I rejected the final interview, this was the second recruiter to up their sales pitch. I suggested an extra $6k, bitched about the interview and the tech stack - and yet he still said think about it. So for that reason, I will go to the interview. If this turns into a cool kids club and they want a bunch of answers for homework help like I have seen in the past, that 4 hour interview will turn into a 30 minute interview real fast because I will leave.

Heh.. sounds like this guy out in Jersey that thinks I should pull up stakes for six month contract job.

The recruiters that want you to relocate with no assistance and for short term contracts are great!! I know a few guys that play this game, they will go from city to city and work short term gigs.

So there is this app idea I am kicking around, maybe someone will build it quicker than I can - basically a rate-a-recruiter app. Good and bad, because there are some great bait and switch recruiters out there.

Really? Sign me up shoot! Then when you talk to them, well we are willing to offer you $80,000.

I hear ya.. I've been on the recruiter speed dials again (it must be that every seven months alarm they have set).. some shit jobs I turned down.. a few that were okay, but not in the industry I care to deal with, and one that just told me to talk to my boss for more money.

You know what surprises me the most? Third quarter and this many companies are out trying to fill roles.

I am often considered a full stack developer as my strong set is front-end development (HTML/CSS/Javascript), however I am also familiar with PHP/MySQL, Perl, Ruby and other server side languages. I hate the term, it usually means they want a person who will do it all.

I prefer the term Software Engineer.

Well, that just killed any desire I might have had to watch Bleach

the series as a whole is really really good and i recommend it-- it is just the way they stop that sucks

Yes - it did indeed, much to be desired after that last show. I didn't really care for the Fullbringer arc, but from what I heard that final arc in the Manga series really makes me want to see it pan out in the television series.

We (My son and I) have been enjoying Attack on Titan and Naruto (old I know - but need a bleach substitute) Also I find GoLion to be more entertaining than Voltron for some reason.
