If you are stuck you can use a flow chart to see what the problem in loops or in the whole are.

You use the chart and use character on paper en write down exactly what the specifications of your while if and for is.

For example if you use in usd16 your while loop should say if not null{ }
write that all down and work you're way down and you will find an error and after you fix it go through it and get the answer and then fix you're program and compare the 2 with each other if you get the same answer and your set!

Hope it helped you can also use pseudocode but I do not really know if alot of students use it.I generally use
S Name of variable
I How an initial value is given to the test variable
T Write down the condition to be tested in the while loop heading
C How the value of the test varialbe is changed at the end of the loop
or the flow charts.
