Posts I've Made
Posted 5 Jul 2012I saw the new Spiderman movie yesterday. I have to say, I liked it better than the original (with Tobey Maguire) and highly recommend seeing it if you're a fan of the series.
Posted 27 Jun 2012I would be willing to help out as well, I would just like to know what kinds of programs we are talking about first!
Posted 14 Jun 2012I took a class this past semester where we were separated into 4 groups and given final projects. One of the projects (not mine) was to develop a game called Beaver Run that basically worked like frogger (run the beaver across the street and don't get hit by a truck!). The professor gave us each a few tips to start us off and let us run with the rest. They were responsible for the graphics, the level design, the collision detection, UI, etc. The game and my project both turned out really well and I learned a lot just by being forced into it!
So my recommendation to you...create a project goal, set a deadline that you would like to have it completed by, and get learning! Read about everything you need to get your goal done...take it step by step and learn!
If you want me to find out what resources they used I can look it up, just let me know.
Posted 13 Jun 2012Anybody going to try the new Elder Scrolls MMORPG when it comes out? It is supposed to be based in skyrim
I'm pretty sure it's not set in Skyrim. I saw a interview from E3 and they mentioned Cyrodil as the main area of the game.
It may be interesting, but I haven't played an MMORPG in years. I used to play Cabal, Mabinogi (for a short time), Shaiya (even shorter time), and Tales of Pirates. Surprisingly I never got into WoW, I tried the free trial and had no desire to continue after that point.
QuotePlaying .hack. All the MMORPG without the O part. It is a game where your character is playing an MMORPG. Inception!
I have read this 5 times and my brain can still barley comprehend it.
.hack is a series of games where you play as a MMORPG player who is investigating problems coming from an MMORPG world (hence the "game where your character plays a game"). It's similar to the early Final Fantasy games. I think it even ran as a TV series for a bit.
Posted 30 May 2012I've had a Droid 2 Global (with Verizon) for about a year now. I've traveled out of the country several times and I've always had service at a reasonable cost (if I needed it for emergencies) so that's a nice plus.
I definitely agree that the main downfall is the battery life. If you get a Droid I highly recommend downloading Juice Defender. The app cuts off your data except for when the screen is active and after some predetermined time interval to check for new email (and facebook posts or whatever else you use). Mine is set to check every 30 minutes and for the most part my battery lasts the entire day when I use it moderately.
Some apps are definitely a problem too but that's not really something you can help.
